Join Indian Army: NCC Special Entry Scheme 56th Course (Oct 2024)

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Nationality:
  • A candidate must be a citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Gorkha subjects of Nepal are exempted from the certificate of eligibility.
  1. Age Limit:
  • For NCC candidates (including wards of battle casualties): 19 to 25 years as of 01 Jul 2024.
  1. Educational Qualification and Other Criteria:

[A] For NCC 'C' Certificate Holders:

  • Degree of a recognized University or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Minimum two/three years of service in Senior Division/Wg of NCC.
  • Minimum 'B' Grade in 'C' Certificate Exam of NCC.

[B] For Wards of Battle Casualties of Indian Army Personnel:

  • Degree of a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • NCC 'C' certificate is not required.
  • Specific documents related to Battle Casualty certification are mandatory.
  • Important Note: Candidates can apply for either SSC (NT)-120 Course (Oct 2024) /SSC (NT) (Women)-34 Course (Oct 2024) or NCC (Spl) Entry-56th Course (Oct 2024).

Vacancies:

NCC Men: 50 (45 for General Category and 05 for Wards of Battle Casualties).

NCC Women: 05 (04 for General Category and 01 for Wards of Battle Casualties).

Note: Vacancies are notified separately for Men and Women, and the selection process is done separately for both categories.

Terms and Conditions of Service:

Short Service Commission will be granted for 14 years, extendable by a further period of 04 years.

Training duration is 49 weeks at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.

Promotion criteria and salary structure are based on ranks and levels.

Selection Procedure:

Shortlisting of Applications: Shortlisted candidates will be informed of their Selection Centre via email.

SSB Interview: Two-stage selection procedure conducted at Selection Centres in Allahabad, Bhopal, Bangalore, and Jalandhar.

Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by SSB will undergo a medical examination.

Merit List: Final merit list based on SSB marks. Joining letters issued for Pre-Commission training at OTA, Chennai.
